Common Interview Questions and How to Answer Them
Tell me about yourself.
This is their frst real introduction to you and a
start to the interview conversation. Your answer
will set the stage for the rest of the interview.
Start of strong by using these strategies:

Customize your answer for each interview
with information that is relevant to the role
•
Use this structure: Introduction (who you
are) → Your experiences (relevant to the role)
→ Your passion and goals (connect it to the
industry focus or the company’s mission)

Be enthusiastic - let your excitement for the
opportunity come through.
What are your strengths and
weaknesses?
Variations of questions about strengths and
weaknesses are very common because they
help the interviewer better understand your
skills, work style, and self-awareness.

Strengths: Focus on strengths that will help
you excel in this particular position. Follow
up with a supporting example to show what
that strength looks like in your work.

Weaknesses: Be truthful - everyone has
weaknesses, but those who are aware and
working on them and are more successful
employees. Elaborate and provide an
example so they don’t assume a weakness
afects your work more than it actually
does. Make sure to talk about what you’re
doing to improve upon it.
Why should we hire you?
This is usually the last question you’ll be asked.
It’s a chance to make a fnal sales pitch by
highlighting your skills, experiences, interest, and
how you can contribute one more time for the
interviewer.

Summarize your top qualifications: Connect
your experience to the company’s needs.
• Show enthusiasm: Highlight why you’re
interested in the position and how it aligns
with your long-term goals.
• Don’t compare yourself to other candidates:
You don’t know who else is interviewing and
their qualifcations. Focus on why you’re a
good ft for the role.
