MAJOR EXPLORATION
What are you going to do with your major?
Are you being asked that question?
Choosing a major can be overwhelming,
but the reality is a major does not always
determine your career. While some majors
are intended to lead to specifc career
paths, many majors leave the door open for
you to choose from endless possibilities.
College is about more than preparing for
a specifc job. It is about developing skills
and preparing for success in your personal
and professional life, something which many
diferent majors can help you achieve.
Tips for Finding a Major That Fits Your Interests and Goals
1. Your major is not your identity.
5. Use Boise State resources.
Choosing a major is a chance to explore your
interests, learn discipline-specifc knowledge, and
develop valuable skills, but it’s just one piece of your
multifaceted identity. Be curious and explore diferent
felds with an open mind.

Choosing classes you’ll enjoy and excel in will help you
stay engaged and set you up for success.
